They follow the Islamic lunar calendar, which is about 11 days shorter than the solar year, so they come around 11 days earlier each year. Turkey uses the calendar published by the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet), so dates can differ by a day from other countries.
According to the Diyanet calendar, Ramadan runs from 8 February to 8 March 2027. Ramadan itself is not a public holiday. Only the three days of Ramazan Bayramı after it are.
Nothing extra. Turkey does not move holidays to the next working day, so a holiday that falls on a Saturday or Sunday brings no extra day off.
Most chain stores, supermarkets and shopping centres open as usual, sometimes with shorter hours on the first day. Banks and government offices are closed for the whole holiday.
